My name is Tierra Williams. I’ve played volleyball for 9 years and I have played every position at least once. My high school experience was at Rockwall High School and I participated in club volleyball with the Hurricanes Volleyball Club and Slam Volleyball Club. My college playing experience was at Arlington Baptist College and Eastfield College.
Prior to joining the Blocksport family, I was part of the YMCA staff where I ref’d, coached for 4 seasons, worked summer clinics for 2 summers and gave private lessons. I brought my YMCA team of 8 and 9 year olds from 8th place to 2nd place by the end of the season, and I helped girls who were beginners and didn’t know how to play, improve their skill and make the A team in middle school. The summer clinics I worked at the YMCA were beginner level players in the 3rd and 4th grades who weren’t sure if they wanted to play and by the end of the clinic they could pass and serve well enough to keep a rally going.
Going into my third season at Blocksport, I was the head coach of a 12s team that transitioned from recreational volleyball to club volleyball. In their first year in club and my first year as a head coach, we took first place in one gold bracket, top five in three gold brackets, and top two in three silver brackets. I also assisted the 2015-2016 15 National team in winning a national bid, and coordinated the Mini Blockers program for 2016.
My motto: I believe that every player deserves an opportunity to play and get better. I don’t accept “I can’t” from my players, only “I can” !
