I have been teaching Business Education in the Career Technology Education Department at Rowlett High School for the last 11 years. While at Rowlett, I was the Varsity Assistant Coach (2005-2006) and then got a wonderful opportunity to become the Head Volleyball Coach (2007-2012). During my reign as head coach, the RHS volleyball program had many successful seasons including 2 District Champion titles, 4 Bi-District Champion titles, 3 Area Champion titles and 1 Area Finalist appearances, and 3 Regional Quarter Finalist appearances. Over these years I had compiled a record of 151 wins and 73 losses.
After the 2011-2012 season I had to make a tough decision to quit coaching at the high school level so that I could spend more time with my children and husband. Although it was one of the hardest things I had to, I have enjoyed every moment of seeing my kids grow up and getting to be active in their lives, but I am ready to get back into volleyball and very thankful that Blocksport has allowed me to become a part of their family.
I am beyond excited to be on this wonderful coaching staff this club season. I believe that it is my job to teach your children that volleyball is more than wins/losses. I feel that through great work ethic, teamwork, and personal sacrifice your child will learn more about themselves and the game than just getting a “W” down in the books. I stress to teach athletes that to be a great player, you must also be a great student of the game!
